It鈥檚 amazing that people are complaining about the costs. It鈥檚 not their problem/business. People donated to the Obama campaign for him to win AS WELL as celebrate after he wins. Do people not realize how that works? Nonetheless, I鈥檓 pleased that my donations have done well 鈥?he won, and now he gets to celebrate.Why don't the THUGS ranting about the cost of the Inauguration realize the revenue out weighs the investment?

I have never thought of myself as a thug.....interesting. Anyway, I hope that you are right.....however, the money being spent on the inauguration (which it is my understanding has been mostly privately funded) seems to me to send a message of excess that is disrespectful in the face of the current situation that many Americans find themselves in right now. As the inauguration is going on I will be working at a job that I may not have in a month. Many of my students (most of who are in my class because they score below average on state testing) will find themselves in classes that have increased to more than thirty per class, before next year. Four of my neighbors homes were being auctioned off/foreclosed this weekend and several of my neighbors have sons and daughters on one of two war fronts......the extravegance is something that I can not identify with and is offensive. Thug - no......time to get busy fixing things, YES......A dignified ceremony noting the historical significance of the moment and a single %26amp; modest reception/';ball'; would have been just fine.
Back in 2000, when Bush's inauguration was going to cost about $40 million, the Liberals (Dems and main-stream media) ragged on Bush because the cost ';was too high';.





Now, the Liberals (Dems and main-stream media) have no objection to an inauguration that costs about 4 times as much.





The double-standard is patently obvious to anyone other than an Obama kool-aid drinker.
OK so your logic is through federal taxes that the entire nation pays you feel its justified for the local revenue that is brought to the district of columbia.





That makes as much sense as a person from Maine having their tax money go to improve a highway in Delaware.
And that money is going where? While the money the government is spending is coming from whom? taxpayers maybe? and most the money they are spending will be on credit cards and they will probably default on most of it.. So who will end up paying for that? Crawl back into your condom..
the better question to raise here is why the dems gave bush so much crap for spending half as much, but now the messiah has come so they say nothing of course
