I think that it's stupid that what a person says in a PRIVATE conversation can be used to ruin his career and hope someone is smart enough to see that and that his career is not ruined.

Why are some questions about police more like rants?
I've noticed that some questions are more about moaning about a specific incident than a general question but much more in the law enforcement section than any other. Why is this?Why are some questions about police more like rants?
I think there are two answers to this.
Firstly, some people get a sense of power from being able to criticise public officials anonymously. It makes them feel big.
Secondly, I honestly believe that some ask questions hoping that people will agree with them and help them justify their behaviour because deep down they have a guilty conscience and know that they have done wrong but are hoping that other like minded idiots will support their view. That makes them feel better and it lessons their conscience.

All of the morons who make derogatory remarks about the police would be the first in the queue if they were victims of crime.
They want criminals caught but don't like it when police attention turns to them.
It is unfortunate that stop and search is far more likely to be directed at young black or Muslim men, but surely it is right that the police target those most likely to be committing certain crimes. To do otherwise would be a gross misuse of limited police resources.

Without the police society would disintegrate and those who oppose the rule of law are delusional and anti-society.

People do NOT really understand affirmative action/positive discrimination... IT IS A GOOD THING... Why??? I took the admissions test for my private high school... They sent a letter congratulating me for having received the highest score ever (and I had straight A's and A+'s)... When my Mom and I went to visit the school (we had an appointment), before we could introduce ourselves, they tried to hurry us away, because they were waiting for the ';high-scoring student to whom they would offer an academic scholarship';... I guess my complexion did not make me look smart enough... I was one of the first to integrate this school ON MERIT, not on race...What was so terrible about an all white school admitting EXTREMELY QUALIFIED African Americans??? Nevertheless, I guess the narrow-minded hatred of some racists refuse to consider that many qualified people are turned away and have been turned away due to race and due to race alone...

The good thing about the Canadian system is that no one has to go without life-saving medication and treatment for fear of the resulting hospital bills. You can go to any clinic or hospital and seek treatment, and as long as you have your government-issued health card, you will get treatment and the only thing you pay for is if you chose to get a private or semi-private room, if you wanted phone service or television viewing rights, or if you had to take an ambulance to the hospital.
The area that could be improved in Canada is to allow more doctors to practice or pay existing family doctors to take more patients. And the agency in charge of doctors only gives out a set number of licenses for practitioners each year.
One example of bureaucracy in Quebec, GPs are allowed to take on as many patients as they like, but the government only pays them for a set number of patients per period. I have always received very good care.I can get in to see my doctor within days and the last time I was in the ER I was out of there in 40 min.My daughter was born weighing 1 1/2 lbs and spent 15 weeks in the hospital and had 2 years of follow up care with specialists, all covered and she got top notch care. I am diabetic and I get eye care, foot care, diabetic counselling all covered plus I was supplied with a free glucose meter and most of my drugs are covered through our provincial drug plan.
Our health care is quite good due to the fact that we don't have to pay large sums of money directly from our pockets all the time. However, it still isn't perfect because it doesn't exactly cover everything that someone might need. But when you go to the emergancy room it can take hours before you are able to see a doctor. When my sister broke her toe she was in there waiting for seven hours! Overall, our health care is quite good, and is avaliable to everyone (not just the rich!)

The good thing about the Canadian system is that no one has to go without life-saving medication and treatment for fear of the resulting hospital bills. You can go to any clinic or hospital and seek treatment, and as long as you have your government-issued health card, you will get treatment and the only thing you pay for is if you chose to get a private or semi-private room, if you wanted phone service or television viewing rights, or if you had to take an ambulance to the hospital.
The area that could be improved in Canada is to allow more doctors to practice or pay existing family doctors to take more patients. And the agency in charge of doctors only gives out a set number of licenses for practitioners each year.
One example of bureaucracy in Quebec, GPs are allowed to take on as many patients as they like, but the government only pays them for a set number of patients per period. In one way, that prevents doctors from taking the cattle car approach and passing patients through every few minutes without actually treating them carefully. May I rant about the state of preschool education??
I just left a job at a kindy that I have been at for seven years because of a change of management. They were employing slack staff who don't do any extra to help the kids develop and are there basically as a social get together. Anyway, I got a job at another preschool within two days of looking, and started on Monday. Today, I was on my lunch break when I heard the Preschool teacher say ';Don't be such a little smart ****';! Nobody supervises the children, so there are constantly children crying and fighting. The staff stand around and backstab everyone that walks out of earshot. Why do people get into childcare when it's obvious they couldn't care less about children??? Are there decent centres out there??May I rant about the state of preschool education??
I have worked in day care before and the only issue I take is your calling a day care center preschool education. And although the lead teachers were often very qualified and professional - I nearly quit because I could not be a part of how one assistant treated the children.
Now I am at a SAHM, and I see a vast difference between the ';preschools'; that my child attend and the day care where I worked. She learns more during 2.5 hrs 2x week then I saw the day care kids learn being there all day 5x a week.
The sad thing is in many regards ';you get what you pay for'; yet if moms could afford the more expensive daycare providers, then they may also be able to afford to stay home or to hire a nanny.
And I think some women go into childcare because they think it sounds ';easy'; and it often does not require the same hours as working retail so they are home for evenings and weekends so it fits in well with family life. Because the pay scale is relatively low the job seems to attract the really passionate (like yourself) or the under-qualified. And the national ';chain'; day-cares are notoriously bad because there is not only a responsiblity to children, but corporate profits.
If you wish to stay in the field I would recommend looking for a state-accredited preschool that does not offer any child care , or a day care that is affliated with a non-profit organization (like a chruch or the Y), or perhaps try a privately owned day care. (And yes, there are many women in corporate chain day care centers that are amazing teachers, but your changes are greater elsewhere). There you will almost always find professionals that care more about the development of children.

Yes, there are decent centers out there...but most of them are priced out of range for most working folks. Those that are decent are VERY good...they hire good staff, pay them well, and find out quickly if they're there to just 'pick up a check.' Once they find good staff/teachers, they keep them happy (read: money).
The kind that folks can afford that are 'decent' are out there, but much harder to find. Most, like the one you described, cut corners to make to operation profitable...since preschool centers are labor intensive operations, the first thing that gets a tight budget is personnel. Most of the time, you do get what you pay for.
I like where my kid is goin. you can sit on outside of class and watch as room is mostly windows, they have an schedule of everything they do each day, and once a month they have either a field trip that requires an adult for each child, or open class where you can sit in and watch. Its at the puyallup rec center.....

If you can find a good ';stay at home mom'; that you can pay, that is what I would suggest. Make sure you know them well or they come well recommended. People that are in it for the money sometimes scare me. I have seen in home day cares that looked like they just warehoused kids, so be careful. Kids are our most precious gift, they are only little for a while. I have often asked people in your situation to start your own care. You seem like you really care about it and maybe you could be part of the solution. Good luck to you and God Bless.

A lot of people just go to work at daycares because it earns them a paycheck , and there own children can go for free or at a discounted rate. I have encountered this type of atmosphere at daycares that i worked at. If you are a concerned parent, drop in and observe spontaniously. The center shouldnt have problems with this. If it is a good center, they will encourage it. If it is ';shady'; they will not allow it or discourage it. Go at lunch/nap time. That is when you can see what they are made of.
Yeah, find a Montessori school and apply there.

Anyway, I hope that you are right.....however, the money being spent on the inauguration (which it is my understanding has been mostly privately funded) seems to me to send a message of excess that is disrespectful in the face of the current situation that many Americans find themselves in right now. As the inauguration is going on I will be working at a job that I may not have in a month. Many of my students (most of who are in my class because they score below average on state testing) will find themselves in classes that have increased to more than thirty per class, before next year. Four of my neighbors homes were being auctioned off/foreclosed this weekend and several of my neighbors have sons and daughters on one of two war fronts......the extravegance is something that I can not identify with and is offensive. Thug - no......time to get busy fixing things, YES......A dignified ceremony noting the historical significance of the moment and a single %26amp; modest reception/';ball'; would have been just fine.
Back in 2000, when Bush's inauguration was going to cost about $40 million, the Liberals (Dems and main-stream media) ragged on Bush because the cost ';was too high';.
Now, the Liberals (Dems and main-stream media) have no objection to an inauguration that costs about 4 times as much.
The double-standard is patently obvious to anyone other than an Obama kool-aid drinker.
OK so your logic is through federal taxes that the entire nation pays you feel its justified for the local revenue that is brought to the district of columbia.

';Rant'; is Green Simms, Rant?
I get the jist of the time travel thing and that he went back in time to save his mother from Green raping her and then he married his mom to raise himself...but is Green another Rant or is he another time traveler?
If Green is Rant, then there were 2 living at the same time?';Rant'; is Green Simms, Rant?
It is almost impossible to put everything together in this story in one long list, but I am going to give it my best.
Basically I hope to logically explain how Rant Casey = Chester Casey = Green Taylor Simms
I think it is easiest to start at the beginning of the sequence of events, rather than starting at the earliest in time. Remember, this story really doesn’t have a beginning or an end…
It all starts with the scientists grabbing unmarked cars and colliding with other scientists to study the effect on accidents and the flow of traffic (p172). Then the scientists started DRVR Graphic Traffic radio to see what would happen if people knew exactly what had happened and if they would still slow down and rubberneck (p173). “Long before modern party crashing, the traffic engineers were running each other down” (p174).
If you remember, Echo’s parents were engineers who drove a grey sedan. “The car that hit us was another sedan owned by the county traffic division, exactly like the one my mother drove” (p163). “The police never found the ****** that smashed into my family” (p162). The police at scene of the accident said that Echo’s mother had crosses the center line in the road to cause the accident. There were no skid marks, so it is obvious that she crashed on purpose. “It’s only one of the secret goals in Party Crashing. Most people call it a Flashback” (p258). Echo’s mom was trying to travel back in time. However, the crash caused the driver of the other car to go back in time, hence no body in the other car in the crash that crippled Echo and killed her parents.
Now we put together who was the driver of the other car, the person who got sent back in time.
“The bad news is, that Charles Casey we found has been missing presumed dead for almost 16 years. He’d been a traffic-flow engineer for the city and died in a work related car accident. It seems he’d requisitioned a car from the department motor pool, then ran it head-on into another car, driven by a female co-worker. The woman and her husband were both killed. Their daughter, who’d been asleep in the backseat of their vehicle, was left handicapped by the accident. Charles Casey’s body was net recovered at the scene.” (p175)
On the previous page we found out that the investigator tracked down one candidate who was Rant’s father. His name was Charles Casey. “He did work a variety of city-government jobs while enrolled in college” (p174).
Now we tie in Charles Casey as a your Green Taylor Simms from Chester Casey’s quote, “This rich old coot named Simms says how, when he was Buster’s age and first moved to the city, he was in a car wreck. This Green Taylor Simms is a young man just driving along, and a car coming in the opposite direction, it crossed the center line without slowing down a hair, and slammed into the man’s car” (p254).
Later on p254 we see that Simms woke up in the hospital 4 days later, and when he asked what happened to his car, the doctors said what car? “The cops asked for his name and Citizen ID and Social Security numbers. And a day later, they told the man that he didn’t exist” (p255). “So, when Green Taylor Simms was twenty-three years old, he sneaks out of the hospital. As soon as they mention a move to the psych ward, he bails before they can put him behind a locked door” (p255).
“Driving, just trawling around, Rant told me that Green Taylor Simms had somehow fallen into the past some sixty years. Riding in the backseat of his own great-grandmother Hattie Shelby…”(p257-258).
Now that Charles Casey (Green Taylor Simms) had gone back in time he starts having sex with his very own great grandmother, Hattie. Esther was his next victim, and then Irene. Rant was born from Irene, essentially, Green Taylor Simms has created a super version of himself. That is why his taste and smell were so heightened. “With every sperm that met an egg. Simms claims he felt stronger. He was hoarding more gold, making a fortune, and stashing it for his future self” (p259).
Rant grows up and moves to the city. By now Green Taylor Simms is way older. 60 years pushed back in time, when Echo was only 8, would make Simms somewhere in his 80’s, and people continually referred to him as an old coot.
Rant figures out how to go back in time and tries to save his mom from being raped, but he ends up arrive too late and changes his name to Chester Casey and ends up raising himself. “And a mostly naked boy stepped out, shaking and wrapped in his own arms…I’m too late, he said, am I too late?” (p284-285). “The hospital ID bracelet that Chester wore that day, it’s dated from the day they pulled him out of the river. Nineteen years to the day before Rant plowed his car into the same stretch of water” (p285).
Let me know if this makes any sense, or if you find any logic flaws or holes.
The hardest part is putting together that Simms and Rant are in fact the same person. We know that he is because of the time that Simms tells Rant that he is him. Simms has disappeared from the story, and we can jump to the conclusion that in some parallel universe Rant either did make it back in time to stop the rape from happening, or Simms went back in time and killed Irene. Erasing that version of Charles Casey.
Remember towards the end of the book, it kept on saying that people start becoming erased from history, photos, etc., after they destroy their beginning to become imortal in time.
So yes, there are actually 3 Rants living at the same time.';Rant'; is Green Simms, Rant?

my sister in law sometimes annoy's the piss out of me. I invite her to my home so her daughter and my daughter can play together they are good friends. She eats up most of my food, destroys my house. Borrows over half my dvd collection and uses me anyway she can. On top of that I paid 100 dollars to take her daughter out to eat, and take her to carter caves with my daughter and paid her 40 dollars for gas to get down here because they are pretty poor we also shelled out another 100 towards gas this weekend. We try to help them out as much as possible but sometimes it feels like we are just being used.
Normally I really like my sister in law but not when she does these sort of things. On top of all that she hardly seems friendly. She is bi-polar and can be a total *****.
I try to be a forgiving person but she really just takes things way to far.... She does this a lot this isn't just a one time thing. I manage a shop which has one other part time employee who is supposed to cover when I am off. I had Tuesday booked off and then she rings 8.15 in the morning to say she cant come in, so i have to cancel all my plans and go to work. FAir enough you may think, people can be sick. However she does it all the time, not turning up cos she is sick, or her son is sick ,or her mother or someone. She didnt come in one day cos the dog had been knocked down, so I called after work to see how he was, not a bother on him at all, very sprightly. So she doesnt come in today either, well tomorrow will be her last bloody day, cos shes getting the sack, except now I have had to spend the past day sorting cover so I can go on my hols next weekend and know everything will be safe. RAnt over, thanks :).

Then as usual, 2 out of the three days I was walking to the gym here in the morning, I was almost hit by a car, they don't give pedestrians the right of way here even if you are already crossing the street.
My son has probably messed up our car in vegas that we left for him to use in an emergency, he has already killed 3 cars in less then 2 years time, our will be his 4th car dead.
Other then that, things are great but it is only Wed.
i will keep my fingers crossed for the rest of the week.

my sister in law sometimes annoy's the piss out of me. I invite her to my home so her daughter and my daughter can play together they are good friends. She eats up most of my food, destroys my house. Borrows over half my dvd collection and uses me anyway she can. On top of that I paid 100 dollars to take her daughter out to eat, and take her to carter caves with my daughter and paid her 40 dollars for gas to get down here because they are pretty poor we also shelled out another 100 towards gas this weekend. We try to help them out as much as possible but sometimes it feels like we are just being used.
Normally I really like my sister in law but not when she does these sort of things. On top of all that she hardly seems friendly. She is bi-polar and can be a total *****.

I'm not too sure if your phone has an option which allows you to do that but if such an option exists then go to your phones messaging folder and from there go to settings and you'll get an option to change the message storage from there - Hope this helps.

Semi-rant, semi-question about women in games shops?
I'm not against women. Heck, I am one. But I've just got to get this little rant off my chest about women who work in games shops. Is it me, or do they not have a clue what they're doing!? I've bought 2 games recently from women attendants and they either forgot to put in a disc or they forgot the manual. This never happens with blokes!

As for renting games, having once been on that end, I can tell you now, 99% of the time when a game Manuel is not in the case, it's because someone who rented the game stole the Manuel. And of that 1% that still have the Manuel, 99% of the time the store will not include it because of the people who steal them.
As for the games not being in the case, every store around me (California, U.S.A.) the clerks get the games from a drawer in plain view of the customer, so I can tell if they are being stupid.
Plus, I always check in the car to make sure the game is the right one, and if their is a Manuel.

Within the next month Im going to get a new phone from sprint. I was advised to wait from my friend because the Samsung Rant is going to be coming out.

Get the Rant. It's just newer generation phone than the Rumor. It has much better graphics, better speed, better keyboard, better camera, better ringtones, better screensavers, Sprint One Click GUI, semi-threaded texting, a USB cable to connect to your computer. The Rumor is just an old-gen phone
Honestly I would never go back to the rumor. I made the mistake by when the blue one came out and my black one stopped charging i went to go get the blue one. The rumor is horrible. I've had like 10 of each phone because they all stopped playing ring tones and then froze. Rant is much better

The LG Rumor is Sprint's answer to those who want the convenience of a QWERTY keyboard without the complexity of a smartphone. A successor to the LG F9200 (which was for Cingular/AT%26amp;T last year), the Rumor is an attractive handset with a hidden slide-out QWERTY keyboard plus a few advanced features like a megapixel camera, a music player, and Sprint Navigation support. We really liked how easy it was to use, especially when sending text messages and e-mails. You can even access social networking sites like Facebook in just a couple of clicks. We wished the Rumor had EV-DO for faster Web surfing, as well as a better screen resolution, but the Rumor is still a great phone, especially if you're a messaging addict. Basically a rant is venting frustration and going on and on without any sort of organization or flowing to the point where it makes sense. It basically involves loud shouting or in writing usage of words that demonstrate frustration and anger. Here is an example,
';I enjoy football, but the one thing I cannot stand are Dallas Cowboy fans. That is right. I hate them with a passion. They are so arrogant, and I don't understand why they think their team is so much better than anyone else's. They continue to say ';super bowl'; each season, but they are always wrong about it every year. I HATE them, and I wish they would stop making themselves look so foolish. Those Cowboys fans need to sit back and shut because they have no clue about what they are talking about';
This is a made up rant by myself. I am a football fan, but I do not hate other fans of other teams. I just wanted to show you an example of a rant so you can see how disorganized it is, and how much frustration comes with writing a rant. It is about how you feel on a certain topic. Well if you mean a rant like a firery speech, get into character. If you writing a rant about, say getting away from Britain, write something like, ';WE HAVE LISTENED TO THE KING FOR TOO LONG!!!'; that could be a starting sentence and then just get some more ideas to support that like taxes and unfair land distribution.
Basically what you need to do is remove some coherency, like you're typing the words as they come to you. This includes darting from one subject to another, as you mind might work, and also even repeating yourself. You also don't want to consider the other opinion on the subject, or you wouldn't be ranting. It must be one view only, and one you feel very strongly upon.
