I don't think the Rumor 2 is a better phone. I have the Rant and i was jealous of the Rumor 2 until i saw it had a 1.3 MP camera and the Rant has a 2 MP camera, it doesn't come with a memory card to listen to music, can't watch Sprint tv, and there's nothing better about the Rumor 2 compared to the Rant.

Why are some questions about police more like rants?
I've noticed that some questions are more about moaning about a specific incident than a general question but much more in the law enforcement section than any other. Why is this?Why are some questions about police more like rants?
I think there are two answers to this.
Firstly, some people get a sense of power from being able to criticise public officials anonymously. It makes them feel big.
Secondly, I honestly believe that some ask questions hoping that people will agree with them and help them justify their behaviour because deep down they have a guilty conscience and know that they have done wrong but are hoping that other like minded idiots will support their view. That makes them feel better and it lessons their conscience.

All of the morons who make derogatory remarks about the police would be the first in the queue if they were victims of crime.
They want criminals caught but don't like it when police attention turns to them.
It is unfortunate that stop and search is far more likely to be directed at young black or Muslim men, but surely it is right that the police target those most likely to be committing certain crimes. To do otherwise would be a gross misuse of limited police resources.

People do NOT really understand affirmative action/positive discrimination... IT IS A GOOD THING... Why??? I took the admissions test for my private high school... They sent a letter congratulating me for having received the highest score ever (and I had straight A's and A+'s)... When my Mom and I went to visit the school (we had an appointment), before we could introduce ourselves, they tried to hurry us away, because they were waiting for the ';high-scoring student to whom they would offer an academic scholarship';... I guess my complexion did not make me look smart enough... I was one of the first to integrate this school ON MERIT, not on race...What was so terrible about an all white school admitting EXTREMELY QUALIFIED African Americans??? Nevertheless, I guess the narrow-minded hatred of some racists refuse to consider that many qualified people are turned away and have been turned away due to race and due to race alone...

The good thing about the Canadian system is that no one has to go without life-saving medication and treatment for fear of the resulting hospital bills. You can go to any clinic or hospital and seek treatment, and as long as you have your government-issued health card, you will get treatment and the only thing you pay for is if you chose to get a private or semi-private room, if you wanted phone service or television viewing rights, or if you had to take an ambulance to the hospital.
The area that could be improved in Canada is to allow more doctors to practice or pay existing family doctors to take more patients. And the agency in charge of doctors only gives out a set number of licenses for practitioners each year.
One example of bureaucracy in Quebec, GPs are allowed to take on as many patients as they like, but the government only pays them for a set number of patients per period. In one way, that prevents doctors from taking the cattle car approach and passing patients through every few minutes without actually treating them carefully. On the other hand, by limiting them in this manner, there is no incentive for doctors to treat more patients even if they happen to have the time, since they won't get paid for these extra clients anyway.
Where the government in Canada seems to have more clout is in the pharmaceutical industry. Canada has limits on how much drug companies can charge for their products, and for every name-brand drug on the market, they must have a generic version available that is identical or similar in its nature, but at a less expensive price.

I may not be unbiased, living in Canada as I do and having benefited greatly from our health care system, but I have to say that I've been happy with the level of care, and how quickly I was given that care. There can be waiting times for some things, but that's for things that can wait. The patient might not see it that way, but from the experience that I had and that people I know have had, if you have some illness that your doctor thinks needs fast treatment, you get it fast. I very particularly appreciate that no one in Canada will ever have to sell their house to pay for medical treatment to stay alive.
If you go to the emergency room expect to wait five hours unless you are dieing. If you don't have a family doctor most of them are not taking new patients for at least six months. If you make an apointment at a clinic because you don't have a regular doctor expect to lose your place and wait because people walk in with worse problems than you. Like in Cuba and North Korea it is illegal for a doctor to open up a clinic outside the government system so if you want better treatment you need to go to a diferent country.
It's almost free. A couple hundred a year in some provinces. But once you look at the taxes at all levels of government you see that we are giving up nearly half our income for service that people in Europe would sue over.
Our health care system is good. Our main complaint about it stems from long waits for specialists and elective procedures. I have numerous first hand accounts, but instead of going into long, boring details, I will just say that I have aging parents (my mom is 60 and my dad is 75) who have had serious health problems (cancer, heart disease, osteoperosis, just to name a few) and both have received grade A treatment under the Canadian health care system.
I've tried a few times to answer this question when an American rants on about inept Government running things. If they just took one second to think about that statement. Every 4 years you elect those to ';over-see'; your tax dollars. If they do a lousy job, don't re-elect them. Our system may not be the answer but it cares for all through ';collective'; taxes and I am proud that my contribution helps in some small way. It is a tangible result of paying taxes where profit doesn't enter into the equation. Health Care for the sake of Health and Care. I have always received very good care.I can get in to see my doctor within days and the last time I was in the ER I was out of there in 40 min.My daughter was born weighing 1 1/2 lbs and spent 15 weeks in the hospital and had 2 years of follow up care with specialists, all covered and she got top notch care. I am diabetic and I get eye care, foot care, diabetic counselling all covered plus I was supplied with a free glucose meter and most of my drugs are covered through our provincial drug plan.
Our health care is quite good due to the fact that we don't have to pay large sums of money directly from our pockets all the time. However, it still isn't perfect because it doesn't exactly cover everything that someone might need. But when you go to the emergancy room it can take hours before you are able to see a doctor. When my sister broke her toe she was in there waiting for seven hours! Overall, our health care is quite good, and is avaliable to everyone (not just the rich!)

I am one of the fortunate ones with a family doctor. I can make an appointment any day, and am seen on time. I have many family members with a variety of serious ailments (cancer... diabetes... MS...) and they have always had timely and effective care. My father did not lose his house and assets when my mother was fighting cancer. My husband did not incur one single expense when he was involved in a car accident years ago. The only one of my family that ever went state-side for 'care' was my aunt who went to NY for an MRI because she felt she was too important to wait 2 weeks. She paid for it herself and only managed to get it done 3 days sooner than she would've had she taken the appointment made for her here in ON.

The good thing about the Canadian system is that no one has to go without life-saving medication and treatment for fear of the resulting hospital bills. You can go to any clinic or hospital and seek treatment, and as long as you have your government-issued health card, you will get treatment and the only thing you pay for is if you chose to get a private or semi-private room, if you wanted phone service or television viewing rights, or if you had to take an ambulance to the hospital.
The area that could be improved in Canada is to allow more doctors to practice or pay existing family doctors to take more patients. And the agency in charge of doctors only gives out a set number of licenses for practitioners each year.
One example of bureaucracy in Quebec, GPs are allowed to take on as many patients as they like, but the government only pays them for a set number of patients per period. In one way, that prevents doctors from taking the cattle car approach and passing patients through every few minutes without actually treating them carefully. On the other hand, by limiting them in this manner, there is no incentive for doctors to treat more patients even if they happen to have the time, since they won't get paid for these extra clients anyway.
Where the government in Canada seems to have more clout is in the pharmaceutical industry. Canada has limits on how much drug companies can charge for their products, and for every name-brand drug on the market, they must have a generic version available that is identical or similar in its nature, but at a less expensive price.
But in USA, the pharmaceutical industry is a very large and powerful lobby group, who tend to influence their representatives to prevent any legislation that might control drug prices there. In the past, they have even fought to make it a criminal offense to seek prescription drugs from outside USA, and more recently using massive marketing campaigns to claim Canadian drugs are inferior than US versions (even though they often make both themselves). Finally, our courts also set limits on malpractice claims. You can sue a doctor or hospital if they misdiagnose or mis-prescribe medication, but you cannot sue for millions in punitive damages like what happens in USA. That helps to keep medical liability insurance down and this in turns means less costs to the patients and on the system in general.

I may not be unbiased, living in Canada as I do and having benefited greatly from our health care system, but I have to say that I've been happy with the level of care, and how quickly I was given that care. There can be waiting times for some things, but that's for things that can wait. The patient might not see it that way, but from the experience that I had and that people I know have had, if you have some illness that your doctor thinks needs fast treatment, you get it fast. I very particularly appreciate that no one in Canada will ever have to sell their house to pay for medical treatment to stay alive.
If you go to the emergency room expect to wait five hours unless you are dieing. If you don't have a family doctor most of them are not taking new patients for at least six months. If you make an apointment at a clinic because you don't have a regular doctor expect to lose your place and wait because people walk in with worse problems than you. Like in Cuba and North Korea it is illegal for a doctor to open up a clinic outside the government system so if you want better treatment you need to go to a diferent country.
It's almost free. A couple hundred a year in some provinces. But once you look at the taxes at all levels of government you see that we are giving up nearly half our income for service that people in Europe would sue over.
Our health care system is good. Our main complaint about it stems from long waits for specialists and elective procedures. I have numerous first hand accounts, but instead of going into long, boring details, I will just say that I have aging parents (my mom is 60 and my dad is 75) who have had serious health problems (cancer, heart disease, osteoperosis, just to name a few) and both have received grade A treatment under the Canadian health care system.
I've tried a few times to answer this question when an American rants on about inept Government running things. If they just took one second to think about that statement. Every 4 years you elect those to ';over-see'; your tax dollars. If they do a lousy job, don't re-elect them. Our system may not be the answer but it cares for all through ';collective'; taxes and I am proud that my contribution helps in some small way. It is a tangible result of paying taxes where profit doesn't enter into the equation. Health Care for the sake of Health and Care. I have always received very good care.I can get in to see my doctor within days and the last time I was in the ER I was out of there in 40 min.My daughter was born weighing 1 1/2 lbs and spent 15 weeks in the hospital and had 2 years of follow up care with specialists, all covered and she got top notch care. I am diabetic and I get eye care, foot care, diabetic counselling all covered plus I was supplied with a free glucose meter and most of my drugs are covered through our provincial drug plan.
Our health care is quite good due to the fact that we don't have to pay large sums of money directly from our pockets all the time. However, it still isn't perfect because it doesn't exactly cover everything that someone might need. But when you go to the emergancy room it can take hours before you are able to see a doctor. When my sister broke her toe she was in there waiting for seven hours! Overall, our health care is quite good, and is avaliable to everyone (not just the rich!)

But there's a separate shingles vaccination available for adults.

My husband got shingles when I was 7 months pregnant with our daughter. It attacked the left part of his head and eye leaving him with excruciating head aches and for a while, partial blindness. We were quite a sight at 2:30 in the morning with me waddling in with him into the emergency room (our doctor's recommendation based on the phone call we had given him earlier) and all the doctors wanting to attend to me when it was really my husband who needed the assistance (I can laugh at it now, however at the time it was upsetting). Both my husband and I have had chicken pox in the past (he had it once, I had it twice) so the doctor wasn't too concerned about it affecting me or our baby since my antibodies would be protecting her. We figured it flared up on my husband when his immune system was weakened by stress (he was working a stressful job during the day while going to school to become a firefighter at night, plus his father was sick at the time). While the doctor didn't think there was any danger to me or the baby, my husband still volunteered to spend the rest of my pregnancy on the couch since he would moan in his sleep from the pain. He still has some residual pain 6 1/2 years later.
That being said, the vaccine wasn't available to either of us when we were younger, so chicken pox was just a ';childhood rite of passage'; for us. I had no objections to my daughter getting vaccinated because I remembered how much I HATED having chicken pox and how terrible shingles were for my husband. I think she's better off for it.

Sadly, I'm afraid they do. They have probably generalized from their own small group of racist friends and family members to assume that all white people hold these same views. Perhaps they even live in an area where everyone has these views, and perhaps they don't realize that a large part of the rest of the country has grown beyond that kind of prejudiced thinking, especially the younger generations. Racism is dying out before our very eyes, and it can't go fast enough.

I have a new rant from sprint and my internet is blocked and I wanted to use my USB cabe to hep put songs on it and I really don't know what to doHave a rant and I need help BAD?
First, you want to save the songs you want on your phone to your computer. Then hook up your phone to it via USB. When you go into the My Computer section of your computer from start it should have all the drivers on there. One of them should say ';removable'; hard drive or driver. That would be your phone. Open it up. Then drag and drop the songs you have from the file you have it saved to into the removable file. That's usually all there is to it. If it doesn't work for you, call Sprint and they can help walk you through it. ^_^

I eat every day, and the next I'm hungry again. My cigarette buts are spontaneously reproducing 'cause I know I do not smoke that much. I am always periously close to running out of gas. Trash day is tommorrow and even if they take what I have outside, I have more pilled up in the garage that they won't and it gets worse from week to week. My dishwasher is broke. Back to the trash, the garbage guy hates me and must have the key to my car and simply must be dumping a portion of garbage into my car. I'm told we're in a drought and my grass will die but I will not give up one hour hot showers. I cannot read my wireless screen in the sun. What did I just say?
.....Just because im a lil flirty in my As n Qs and just because i get a lil over sexually charged sometimes it doesn't mean im some cyber tart......i don't do cyber, im a very loyal person and when i care i care deeply so i wish the random perv's would stop mailing me hoping to get some flingly fun....Just cause i can be a bad girl doesn't mean i am.

Lot's of people here who ask questions are really not looking for honest answers. Rather, they are just looking for people who aggree with their point of view. Babylon was the biggest of such cities and laws were needed.
Hammurabi created a code and rules for Babylon who was in revolt. Apparently, it became part of Coran and perhaps part of the first documents of Israel (because Israel was influenced by babylon). This is in the O.T. Thousands of years later, Jesus found that Israel religion was not so good and talked about forgivness, live, helping the poors all things that priests never did. so the priests wanted to get rid of Jesus and ask the Romans to condamn Him. But Romans refused. After the death of Jesus, things turned bad in Israel and many Apostles decided to go to Greece and few, to Rome as Rome didn't care about religions. (Rome punished Christians later during 100 years).
Jesus named himself as ';son of Man'; and ';Son of God';. Not the same God that Jewish people believed into. And the Kingdom he promised was not the one Jewiseh people were despaired to have, especially as a province of Rome.
The Coran was written during the 6th century A.D, in a time when the ';prohet'; cannot be angry at the Jewish people nor the Europeens countries that tried to overcome the collapse of Rome. We know that he tried to force people to believe in his religion mainly in (Irak) where he came from. He used violence helped by Saladin. He attacked several holy cities in east Irak.
It is only 5 centuries later that countries of Europe wanted to go back to Jerusalem and then, encounterd Muslims. The Europeans becoming the Infidels, Muslims wanted to kill. Then other invasions stroke Europe, one in Yougoslavia, where a Prince named Von Drakul was decided to stop it. He was extremely violent and courageous too. This was in late Middle Age. Two other invasions were attempted, one against Italy and one from Spain who lost the war. (Russia was attacked as well, from Muslims and many barbarian Tribes until alexander the Great ended this and conquered Ukraine and other muslims provinces. The down side is they haven't realized that not everyone thinks their way and so the ego, now enlarged and out of rational control, has to react to preserve the belief system of that individual...hence the rants and anger...they, in their minds are under attack...sad but true...

When they lose in Nov. will the Left finally wake up and realize that the also-rans they continuously trot out arent losing because of voting booth foul-ups, but because their candidates have NO CHANCE to pay for all of their ridiculous socialist spending packages?

The magic is only in my eyes?

Rant of the day time! What really ';grinds your gears';?
Ya know what really grinds my gears? When Yahoo deletes my questions or deletes the question I answer. Why does everybody always have to report everything? People are so up-tight. Maybe if people don't like avatar games or fun at all, they should find a different section.
Oh, and people who refuse who eat sicilian pizza. I mean people can have a preference but to demand round pies seems a little much. IT'S STILL PIZZA JUST IN ANOTHER SHAPE!!!Rant of the day time! What really ';grinds your gears';?
I hate it when I've got my act together and other people's incompetence screws me up, especially since in most cases I end up taking the fall. For example, it's my one-year anniversary today -first boyfriend ever- and I need to do laundry, but have now lost an hour because my sister refused to call back and tell me she doesn't know where the card is. I have to leave in two hours, which is conveniently enough about how long it takes to do laundry, except now I have to go and get a $10 bill for the stupid machine. None of this would be a problem if my sister had been willing to go so far below her station and respond to a lowly mortal.
The pizza thing also bugs me.Rant of the day time! What really ';grinds your gears';?

Does anyone else get very annoyed when on such programmes as Grand Designs, and Property Ladder (in UK) the presenters return to previous projects to update the viewers but spend 90% of the programme repeating what has already been shown....its just a repeat, why don't they call it that?Having a bit of a rant about TV, what do you think?

Repeats part of the first section when the adverts have been shown and repeats again towards the end. It is just padding to make it seem a long programme and fill the half hour slot.
Have you also noticed that Coronation Street is really only a 20 minutes programme. It starts five minutes after the allotted time, has a 4 minute advert time and the opening sequence takes almost a minute. Perhaps the trade descriptions act should be applied.

Have you ever been thrown out of a Five Star Restaurant.rant?
This happened to me and my wife in San Diego. We had ordered our meal and we both had ';corned beef'; with cabbage and other veggies. My wife took a bite of the corned beef and ';spit'; it on the her plate. She looked at me and said don't bite into it as it is ';rotten';. We called the waitress over and told her and she did not know what to do. She went to get her supervisor, and the manager also showed up. My wife was explaining to him that this meat is spoiled, and he said impossible. He then said, ';corned beed taste different in different parts of the country';. BS.
All we wanted was to get another meal off the menu, but we were not given that option. I then told him that I would pay double if you would take a bite of mine as I have not taken the first bite.
He said, ';I am not hungry';. People were listening to every word as we spoke with the three. I told them that you don't expect me to pay for the rotten food, do you? We were asked to leave, and pay for your coffee on the way outHave you ever been thrown out of a Five Star Restaurant.rant?

I agree with an earlier respondent. Take the offending food to the health department and let them handle it. If it's indeed spoiled, you have a lawsuit you will win hands down. And the restaurant is in deep clinton.
Wow. Sounds like the restaurant didn't deserve a 5 star rating. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. But I am surprised you wouldn't tell us WHICH restaurant because I sure as heck don't want to go there.
As a native San Diegan I am also curious about a few things. What was the name of the restaurant? Where did you get the restaurant rating info from? Why corned beef (not that it's a bad choice, I love corned beef, but I never order it in restaurants because it is inferior to my own)?
It was ridiculous of the management to make you pay for anything, and I do believe it was bad form on their part to not offer replacement meals free of charge. If you know the names of the employees and manager and the name of the establishment, you should write a letter of complaint to the health department and to the source that you got the 5 star rating from. Better luck next time! ^_^

What 5 Star restaurant serves corned beef? Even in San Diego I find this hard to believe as there are only a handful of 5 Star restaurants in town. You must have been dining out on St. Paddy's Day, is all I can think of. Would love to know the name of the restaurant since I live here %26amp; know the business very well.

I don't because I do not trust people
and food, and so I got into cooking myself.
I just feel we are dealing with so much BS
that I have taken different means of dining out
I want to see my food prepared.
What happened to you was a law suit
I The price you pay for eating out in a years time
can buy you all kinds of nice things so that you can
Prepare your own food in exciting stainless steel cookware
Who knows what your food has been cooked in.
Aluminum is not safe because of the chemicals
So like make your home the 5 star restaurant
And for fast food do the Taco bell thing
where u can see what they are doing or a
place you can watch your food being prepared
It pisses me off that you were insulted

I agree with an earlier respondent. Take the offending food to the health department and let them handle it. If it's indeed spoiled, you have a lawsuit you will win hands down. And the restaurant is in deep clinton.
Wow. Sounds like the restaurant didn't deserve a 5 star rating. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. But I am surprised you wouldn't tell us WHICH restaurant because I sure as heck don't want to go there.
As a native San Diegan I am also curious about a few things. What was the name of the restaurant? Where did you get the restaurant rating info from? Why corned beef (not that it's a bad choice, I love corned beef, but I never order it in restaurants because it is inferior to my own)?
It was ridiculous of the management to make you pay for anything, and I do believe it was bad form on their part to not offer replacement meals free of charge. If you know the names of the employees and manager and the name of the establishment, you should write a letter of complaint to the health department and to the source that you got the 5 star rating from. Better luck next time! ^_^

You must have been dining out on St. Paddy's Day, is all I can think of. Would love to know the name of the restaurant since I live here %26amp; know the business very well.

This happened to me and my wife in San Diego. We had ordered our meal and we both had ';corned beef'; with cabbage and other veggies. My wife took a bite of the corned beef and ';spit'; it on the her plate. She looked at me and said don't bite into it as it is ';rotten';. We called the waitress over and told her and she did not know what to do. She went to get her supervisor, and the manager also showed up. My wife was explaining to him that this meat is spoiled, and he said impossible. He then said, ';corned beed taste different in different parts of the country';. BS.
All we wanted was to get another meal off the menu, but we were not given that option. I then told him that I would pay double if you would take a bite of mine as I have not taken the first bite.
